Leggings are not trousers. Everyone has a pet peeve (or lots of them) and this is simply mine. So I am starting a blog to document the grotesqueness that the world has to endure when seeing someone sporting leggings as trousers. I’m not saying wearing leggings is unacceptable; that would be ridiculous. Leggings are an essential part of any woman’s wardrobe. However wearing leggings as trousers, i.e. without covering your derrière with a suitably lengthy top/jumper/dress, has to be the ultimate fashion sin. Regardless of how pert a bottom is, no one wants to see through the backside of someone else’s leggings (well possibly men do, but let’s not get into that). And as for those more, shall we say, overly curvaceous women rocking the leggings as trousers look, please pass the sick bag now. Through this blog I will endeavour to educate all women – not just the fashion conscious ones – on the national importance of covering your legging clad bum. I will not purposefully embarrass any one woman (except perhaps celebrities as they can afford stylists and so have absolutely no reason to commit this fashion faux pas) and will simply highlight the awkwardness that occurs when my pet peeve is spotted. Feel free to send in photos of those committing the said violation and together may we stop this travesty from occurring for good!
